Dry Grad is an event organized and operated by parent volunteers. It is not a school sanctioned event. GESS appreciates the efforts parent volunteers make to ensure our Grade 12s have a fun, safe Graduation.
This page will be updated to announce fundraising opportunities, meeting dates and other Dry Grad information as it arises.

What is Dry Grad?
Dry Grad party is an all-night after-grad celebration where a complete prohibition on drug and alcohol use is enforced. Dry Grad is intended to offer an exciting and absorbing variety of fun activities, and compelling entertainment.
The aim of Dry Grad is primarily to reduce the risk of harm to the graduates, and the community at large, on a night when that risk is unusually high. It is an event where graduates can have the time of their lives without risking their lives. The size and scope of a Dry Grad is intended to reflect the graduates’ achievement, and is dependant on the fundraising participation of students and parents, and the direct involvement of parents in planning and organizing the event.
The 2018 Dry Grad Committee is parent/volunteer driven and we always have room for your help with the following and we'll need some extra hands-on volunteers on the day/night of the event so if you can't attend the meetings please contact us if you think you can help out on the day.
- Chair / Finance
- Communications / Promotion
- Fundraising / Collection
- Activities / Prizes / Food
- Event Management / Volunteers
- Set-Up / Decorations
- Take-Down / Clean-Up
Grade 12 parents are encouraged to support Dry Grad and participate, and Grade 11
parents are also encouraged to participate during the actual event (food-prep,
decorating, transportation, supervision, etc). Without the direct involvement of parents,
this event may struggle.
Please express your interest by e-mail (email@example.com) and your message
will be forward to the applicable sub-committee.
